Selected work

One problem. One useful tool.
A clear result.

Four projects show the range: collect data in the field, make a large dataset understandable, turn old spreadsheets into a dependable database, or build a web experience people remember.

01 · Collect

EcoPlot Mobile · Product preview

Collect clean field data beyond cell service.

EcoPlot Mobile is an offline-first field app for vegetation and ecological monitoring. Crews follow the right protocol on a phone or tablet, then sync to a private hosted database when a connection returns.

What it proves: a complex field method can become a focused tool that works where the work happens.

02 · Understand

NEON Small Mammal Tracker · Live dashboard

Make roughly 178,000 capture records feel explorable.

The tracker turns public NEON small-mammal box-trapping records into a national site map, species summaries, individual capture histories, home-range views, and detection-corrected population estimates.

What it proves: research-grade detail can stay honest without making the interface hard to use.

03 · Clean + automate

VGS Batch Importer · ETL and quality assurance

Stop bad spreadsheet rows before they reach the database.

This R-based pipeline reads historical vegetation datasheets, validates species and site information, and imports accepted records into SQLite. It supports point ground cover, line intercept, and nested-frequency protocols.

What it proves: data cleanup can become a repeatable system instead of a recurring emergency.

04 · Create an experience

Old Pueblo · Interactive scroll-film

Turn a familiar drive into a cinematic journey.

Old Pueblo is a scroll-controlled flight through a Sonoran Desert Saturday—from saguaros and monsoon weather to Kitt Peak darkness and Arizona Stadium under the lights.

What it proves: motion can carry a story when every interaction belongs to the journey.

Bring the problem. We’ll help shape the useful thing.

A short discovery call is enough to establish the users, the data, and the decision the tool needs to support.
