What to include in your first message
A few details up front make the discovery call ten times more useful.
1 The problem you’re trying to solve.
“We track field samples in Excel and it takes a day to find anything.”
2 The data you’re working with.
How many rows / files / sources, where it lives today, who edits it.
3 The users
Who will use the thing? How many people? Tech comfort level?
4 The timeline
Hard deadline (grant, season, fiscal year) or flexible?
5 The budget (rough)

6 Anything else
